Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Leads exercise classes for various fitness levels, providing a safe, fun and effective class structure in a professional, friendly and motivating manner. Supports and promotes the wellness center both internally and externally.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
One (1) year of experience in a similar setting preferred
Nationally recognized exercise or fitness related certification preferred.
CPR/AED
Ability to teach a variety of class types and fitness levels

Responsibilities

Conducts group exercise classes: Follows Industry guidelines and standards on safe, approved exercises.
Modifies classes based on skill level and health status.
Motivates and encourages at all classes.
Promotes the philosophy of cross training and encourages members to explore all types of classes offered at the wellness center.
Attempts to know members by name and takes a professional interest in their health goals.
Arrives 10 minutes early and stays 10 minutes after class.
Handles inquiries regarding the exercise classes.
Presents professionalism, assists in program marketing and promotes a clean environment.
Maintains confidentiality of member information, facilitates, initiates and implements change.
Works as a positive team member with members and staff to help resolve problems.
Conforms to legal and ethical requirements and supports Prisma Health safety and health policies.
Maintains current certifications.
Stays current on industry advances through professional applications and ongoing literature and in-services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
