About The Position

Responsible for strategic planning and operations of the Women's & Children's Service Line. Collaborates with the other Service Line Executives to develop, implement and achieve goals, objectives and strategic plans. Sets priorities to align with business objectives and annual plan. Establishes the direction of policies and procedures and sets a structure for providing safe working environment. Assists Directors in developing the annual operating and capital budgets. Participates in system-sponsored initiatives, establishing goals and standards to support business initiatives and to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and achievement of common objectives. Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is the foundation of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest health network with 29 acute care hospitals, more than 5,000 primary care physicians and specialists, home health, occupational health, psychiatric care and more. The downtown Sacramento Medical Center is made up of several facilities that include Ose Adams Medical Pavilion, Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center, and Sutter Center for Psychiatry. Ose Adams Medical Pavilion The 281-bed specialty medical center focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as a medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine, and neurology, and neurosurgery. Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center The 242-bed specialty medical center focuses on women's and children's specialty services and includes medical intensive care units for cardiac and neurological patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field.
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • 15 years recent relevant experience.
  • 5-10 years recent progressive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to tactfully direct the efforts of diverse health professionals to meet patient and physician needs.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state licensing and regulatory standards, accreditation and clinical practice standards.
  • Ability to act upon difficult decisions to drive desired changes, as well as capability to lead, guide and promote a sense of shared purpose within the team.
  • Demonstrates credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to engage others.
  • Ability to make fiscally sound decisions that reflect corporate and service line philosophy.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in achieving goals through individuals without having direct control of those resources.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and regulatory changes, and how it impacts operations.
