About The Position

The EVP of Acute, Inpatient, and Residential Services is a visionary, data-driven leader responsible for designing and executing innovative clinical strategies that drive growth, deepen patient engagement, and enhance the organization's reputation for excellence in behavioral healthcare. The EVP is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and clinical performance of all high-acuity service lines within a large behavioral health organization. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care across inpatient units, crisis stabilization units, and residential treatment programs while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The EVP drives service integration, throughput, and care coordination to optimize patient flow and outcomes across the continuum of care. They are accountable for financial performance, workforce strategy, and program growth, aligning operations with organizational goals and evolving payer and market dynamics. In partnership with clinical and executive leadership, the EVP advances best practices, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management strategies. This role also serves as a key external representative, building relationships with referral sources, health systems, and community stakeholders to strengthen access and system impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare management, with at least three years in a senior leadership role, preferably within a large behavioral health or crisis system
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MHA, MBA, MSW) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the delivery of appropriate, clinically-effective, and culturally-competent services across all programs by managing staff levels, work assignments, and internal processes
  • Mentoring and developing individual employees and teams, providing guidance and structure to achieve best practice, and working to develop strong clinical skills and optimal performance across all staff
  • Monitoring the clinical effectiveness of programs and ensuring that services are consistent with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Communicating agency vision, plans, and changes to direct reports and program staff
  • Representing the organization in state, local, and regional committees and developing business relationships with other service providers
  • Serving as a member of the senior leadership team, which includes developing and implementing agency policies and procedures and participating in short- and long-term strategic planning for the organization
