About The Position

The Executive Team Leader- Specialty Sales is responsible for leading teams in Apparel & Accessories (A&A), Beauty, and Electronics. This role focuses on driving sales through active selling, compelling visual merchandising, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The position involves managing inventory, pricing, promotions, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom. Target aims to provide meaningful experiences for team members to build skills for a career. This role offers knowledge in guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals (sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, promotions), and experience in setting and planning monthly/quarterly workloads. It also involves managing multiple specialty businesses, understanding competitors, managing hourly team members and leaders, and developing business-specific strategies and goals. The role requires recruiting, selecting, and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand departmental impact on profitability.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience and sales goals.
  • Create and adjust schedules based on guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage merchandising and pricing workload, including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Build a team of knowledgeable and passionate consultants for A&A, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Manage and develop a sales force using selling training techniques.
  • Lead A&A, Beauty, and Electronics backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment.
  • Lead the team to deliver inspiring visual moments in A&A, Home, Baby, and other seasonal areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Plan, lead, and follow up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in store trends.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, talent plan, and recruit.
  • Develop and coach the team and Team Leaders to elevate their skills.
  • Lead team onboarding, learning, and address product knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide service and a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
