About The Position

The Executive Team Leader of Specialty Sales is responsible for driving total store sales and creating a guest-obsessed culture. This role involves leading a team of specialized consultants in Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics to provide tailored suggestions and solutions through active selling and compelling visual merchandising. The position focuses on enhancing the guest experience while ensuring product availability and efficient sales floor management. Target aims to provide meaningful experiences that help team members build and develop skills for a career, offering knowledge in guest service fundamentals, retail business operations, and team management. The role provides experience in setting and planning department workloads, managing teams to achieve sales goals, and understanding guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions. It also involves managing multiple specialty businesses, leveraging competitor insights, and developing talent within the team.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience

  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds
  • Accurately handle cash register operations

  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand departmental impact on profitability.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience and sales goals.
  • Create and adjust schedules based on guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage merchandising and pricing workload, including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business objectives.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Build and manage a team of knowledgeable and passionate consultants in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Deliver inspiring visual merchandising in relevant areas.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Plan, lead, and follow up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in store trends.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, develop talent plans, and recruit team members.
  • Develop and coach team members and Team Leaders to enhance their skills.
  • Lead team onboarding, learning, and address product knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Provide excellent guest service.
  • Demonstrate and uphold ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
