About The Position

The Executive Team Leader GM & Grocery (Assistant Manager General Merchandise and Grocery) role at Target focuses on leading teams to ensure operational efficiency and a positive guest experience across General Merchandise (GM) and Grocery departments. This role involves managing inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for GM areas, as well as overseeing Food & Beverage and Food Service operations to ensure a fresh and food-safe environment. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the impact of departments and team on profitability.
  • Manage a team executing inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing for all GM areas.
  • Manage a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience and store sales goals.
  • Develop strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload, ensuring guest readiness.
  • Create a scheduling plan in partnership with team leaders based on business workload and guest traffic.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to ensure task and workload completion.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, review reporting to identify gaps, and develop resolution plans.
  • Oversee Team Leaders' workload planning, including transitions, revisions, and sales plans for all GM areas.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently, meeting guest promise times.
  • Assess the competition and leverage guest insights and feedback to drive business and become the destination of choice.
  • Plan, manage, and follow up on organizational and operational change.
  • Anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends.
  • Develop and coach Team Leaders to elevate the skills and expertise of the team.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, talent plan, and recruit for both long and short term.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, leading the team to work in the same way and holding others accountable.
  • As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
