About The Position

SodexoMagic is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to assist in managing the culinary operations within the American Airport Admirals and Flagship lounges at Miami International Airport (MIA). Our airport lounges are dedicated spaces for passengers to relax and rejuvenate while awaiting their next adventure. Seeking bilingual candidates; the ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful in leading this workforce. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and Sodexo. As a certified minority company, we deliver food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities and aviation lounges. This strategic alliance between Magic Johnson Enterprises and Sodexo, Inc., enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Culinary management experience within high-volume restaurants, catering, hotels or upscale dining venues
  • Eclectic menu knowledge with a strong background in high-volume catering and events execution
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills
  • A strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years minimum management experience
  • 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful in leading this workforce
  • Have a passion for food and innovation

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for supporting the culinary program within the lounges
  • Supervise a team of culinarians including cooks and utility staff
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality/presentation are implemented
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety, standard compliance
  • Have a working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
