About The Position

The Executive Sales Consultant is responsible for building broker relationships and contributing to sales goals through broker growth initiatives and new group submissions. Working with moderate supervision, this role emphasizes maintaining regular communication with brokers to encourage product adoption and increase sales. Primary responsibilities include prospecting brokers for new sales opportunities, conducting product and technology training, and making proactive outbound, and follow-up calls to active and potential brokers. The Executive Sales Consultant actively contributes to strategic development by refining strategies to meet annual sales targets and goals, leveraging sales status reports to monitor activity, follow-ups, closings, and progress toward target achievement.

Requirements

  • Strong proven track record of supporting the achievement of sales goals
  • Maintain a valid OR life/health insurance license
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Computer literacy in programs such as but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Microsoft 365, SalesForce
  • Advanced analytic skills to read and understand sales reports and identify trends
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate consultative skills with internal and external partners
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a complex environment with high accuracy and work volume with limited supervision
  • Advanced understanding of market factors, carriers, carrier guidelines, plans, benefits, and legislation in the California group insurance landscape
  • Collaborative and flexible work style to pivot in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to self-start and think/act independently

Responsibilities

  • Drive for results to exceed monthly/annual sales to support and meet the overall company sales goals
  • Recommends appropriate solutions to meet customer needs and resolves moderately complex customer questions or issues independently
  • Generates prospective broker opportunities by utilizing moderately complex prospecting strategies and maximizing referrals
  • Cultivate moderately complex agency/broker relationships and identify strategies to expand opportunities
  • Reviews data on sales reports to identify patterns, identify opportunities and develop moderately complex sales strategies and collaborates with sales team to share insights
  • Helps identify areas of sales process improvements to achieve sales targets and initiatives
  • Develop and conduct structured training sessions covering product knowledge, quoting tools, and market trends. Regularly assess broker understanding and provide ongoing education on product updates
  • Develops and conducts agency training
  • Participate in a variety of industry events and conferences to generate new agency leads and develop new business opportunities
  • Lead brokers through the entire sales cycle, ensuring they understand each step, from quote through implementation
  • Engage brokers early in the renewal process to assess client needs, any changes in the business, and possible improvements to their current policies
  • Make broker connections to follow up on active quotes. Proactively making calls on upcoming effective dates for potential business
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of our carrier partner’s, industry trends, underwriting nuances, services and products
  • Builds relationships with cross-functional/external stakeholders and customers
  • Ensures a high level of customer service is provided for the utmost experience
  • Document activity and communication in Sales Force
  • Demonstrate consistent, outstanding judgment, honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance
  • Provide back up in other areas within the department/company as needed/requested
  • Ability to participate and consult in RFP process when competing for an agency
