About The Position

Provide executive clinical leadership and oversight for residential treatment services, ensuring clinical programs align with sound clinical practice, agency policies, licensing requirements, contractual expectations, and accreditation standards. Promote consistent, client-centered, trauma-informed clinical practice across residential programming. Monitor the quality and effectiveness of clinical services and recommend improvements that strengthen treatment outcomes and program performance. Provide flexibility and adapt clinical schedules and service delivery to support optimal therapeutic treatment for clients.

Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or another human behavioral science field required.
Current professional licensure as required by State of Michigan licensing and contractual standards.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a human services organization, including experience supervising staff and supporting clinical training, development, or certification activities.
Demonstrated expertise in clinical assessment and intervention methods within youth-focused therapeutic residential programs.
Working knowledge of residential group dynamics, behavior modification techniques, and point- or level-based behavioral systems.
Working knowledge of state licensing requirements, accreditation standards, court systems, and interagency coordination within child welfare and residential services.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, develop, and hold a high-performing clinical team accountable.
Strong written, verbal, organizational, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
Physical health adequate for the performance of assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Promote consistent, client-centered, trauma-informed clinical practice across residential programming.
Monitor the quality and effectiveness of clinical services and recommend improvements that strengthen treatment outcomes and program performance.
Provide flexibility and adapt clinical schedules and service delivery to support optimal therapeutic treatment for clients.
Provide supervision, leadership, coaching, and professional development to assigned Therapists, Case Managers, Permanency Specialists, Licensed Practical Nurses, and other assigned clinical staff.
Coordinate with the Staff Development Team to ensure required clinical training, development, and certification requirements are completed and documented.
Promote accountability, interdisciplinary teamwork, professional growth, and consistent application of approved clinical practices.
Ensure Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), trauma-informed care, and other required clinical approaches are maintained in practice.
Ensure staff maintain a thorough understanding of individualized treatment plans and consistently implement assigned treatment interventions.
Ensure staff understand and consistently implement client safety plans and identified risk-management interventions.
Conduct or support individualized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-oriented interventions in individual, group, and family settings as clinically appropriate.
Role model client-centered, trauma-informed interventions and support staff in responding appropriately to client needs and behavioral changes.
Support coordination of treatment services across clinical, residential, medical, permanency, and case management functions.
Maintain compliance with applicable Human Resources, licensing, contractual, accreditation, and agency requirements within assigned clinical operations.
Review medical waivers, incident reports, safety plans, client logs, and other relevant clinical and operational communications to identify concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and compliance with funding, licensing, accreditation, and agency requirements.
Support quality assurance activities, corrective action planning, licensing reviews, audits, and other clinical compliance activities as assigned.
Function as a mandated reporter in accordance with Michigan Child Protection Law.
Coordinate clinical information and communication with appropriate departments using approved agency systems, including email, Paycor, Salesforce, SharePoint, and other applicable platforms.
Collaborate with residential leadership, clinical staff, nursing, case management, permanency, and other departments to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in required treatment team, leadership, clinical, and agency meetings.
Maintain effective communication regarding client needs, clinical concerns, treatment recommendations, and program priorities.
Ensure comprehensive client records, clinical documentation, and court-related documentation are maintained in accordance with funding, licensing, accreditation, and agency requirements.
Ensure required logs, reports, incident documentation, and clinical records are completed accurately and submitted within established timelines.
Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and organizational information in accordance with applicable laws and agency standards.
Demonstrate proficiency with WHS technology platforms and applications necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.
Participate in required professional development, clinical training, and organizational initiatives.
Represent Wolverine Human Services professionally in interactions with clients, families, employees, courts, funding entities, licensing representatives, and community partners.
Perform other duties as assigned for the good of the clients, the program, and the agency.
Successfully complete all required agency orientation, contractual, licensing, and clinical training.
