About The Position

Day One Agency is seeking an experienced Executive Producer to join their production team. This role is responsible for leading the execution of creatively driven work across various formats. The ideal candidate will have strong line production experience, a deep understanding of the advertising production ecosystem, and the ability to build production teams, whether internal or external. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring comfort in creative development, bidding, vendor negotiation, and on-set problem-solving. The Executive Producer will collaborate with account, creative, and production teams to ensure creative excellence, financial responsibility, and high-level execution. The agency has a strong reputation, having been recognized on Fast Company's Most Innovative list, Ad-Age A-List, and receiving multiple agency of the year awards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of production experience, ideally within an advertising agency, production company, or both.
  • Strong line production and physical production experience with the ability to independently stand up and manage complex productions.
  • Demonstrated experience producing a broad range of content, from national broadcast commercials to social, episodic, branded, and experiential work.
  • A substantial network of trusted production companies, crew, vendors, stages, locations, rental houses, and post partners, particularly in NYC and other major production markets.
  • Strong understanding of commercial production budgets, bidding, scheduling, staffing, union considerations, insurance, locations, permits, post-production, and production logistics.
  • Excellent judgment around selecting the right production model and partners for a given project.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Comfortable working with senior agency leadership, clients, creatives, account teams, production partners, and crew.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to remain calm and decisive when things inevitably change.
  • Strong creative instincts and an understanding of what it takes to protect the creative idea through production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Production from Bid Through Delivery: Partner with account and creative teams to understand project scope, budget, timeline, and production requirements. Determine the appropriate production model (internal studio vs. external partner). Assemble production companies, crew, vendors, stages, locations, and equipment. Build and manage production budgets, bids, schedules, estimates, and plans. Evaluate and negotiate with production partners and vendors. Provide senior-level production guidance through all phases of production. Anticipate and solve production challenges. Maintain a network of production resources in NYC and nationally. Identify new production partners, technologies, and approaches. Work with account teams to scope projects, develop budgets, and establish timelines. Assist account teams in client production conversations. Participate in creative development, providing production perspective to influence the work. Translate creative ambition into realistic production plans. Serve as a senior production resource for the agency and clients.
  • Produce Across Formats: Demonstrate broad production experience in various formats including broadcast and digital commercials, social and creator-led content, episodic and series-based content, branded entertainment, sizzle reels, photography and integrated photo/video productions, experiential and pop-up events, live or hybrid productions, fast-turn content, and emerging technology-enabled production formats.
