Mass General Brigham (MGB) is seeking a dynamic and experienced physician leader to serve as Executive Medical Director for Community Physicians. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for advancing clinical strategy, driving value-based care performance, and strengthening partnerships across our growing community affiliate network. The Executive Medical Director will play a critical role in shaping the future of ambulatory care delivery by partnering across clinical, operational, and population health teams to enhance quality, access, equity, and provider experience. The Executive Medical Director serves as a key physician leader across the Mass General Brigham Community Physicians (MGB CP) network, working in close collaboration with the Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO). This role is responsible for driving performance across affiliate practices, leading practice transformation initiatives, advancing value-based care strategies, and identifying and supporting strategic growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • MD or DO required
  • Active medical license (or ability to obtain) required
  • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or Business Administration (MBA) required
  • 5–7+ years of clinical experience in primary care
  • 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in medical management or physician leadership roles
  • Experience in value-based care and population health
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory operations and practice management
  • Ability to influence and engage physicians and clinical teams
  • Data-driven decision-making and performance management skills
  • Experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in quality, safety, access, equity, and cost performance across affiliate practices
  • Serve as a physician liaison between community practices and system leadership, including PHSO, OCMO, and operational teams
  • Lead practice performance reviews utilizing data and analytics
  • Advance value-based care initiatives and improve population health outcomes
  • Support practice transformation and innovation, including new care delivery models
  • Enhance ambulatory workflows and improve clinician experience
  • Identify and cultivate strategic growth opportunities across the network
  • Promote physician engagement, development, and well-being
