About The Position

Step into a high-impact leadership role at the heart of Louisiana’s Medicaid program—one of the largest in the nation. As a trusted advisor to the State Medicaid Executive Director, you’ll help shape policy, guide strategic decisions, and tackle complex challenges that directly affect over 1.8 million residents. This is a unique opportunity to influence a $16 billion program, collaborate with top state and federal leaders, and drive meaningful change in healthcare delivery across Louisiana.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the Financial Review Committee by organizing agendas, tracking action items, and ensuring timely completion of outstanding tasks
  • Maintains and monitors executive-level trackers for memos, briefings, and program decisions to support the Executive Director and Senior Advisor
  • Serves as liaison between the Medicaid Executive Director and key stakeholders, including the Governor’s Office, state and national partners, managed care organizations, providers, and internal agencies
  • Manages executive office operations, including calendar coordination, meeting planning, materials preparation, and oversight of administrative and HR-related functions
  • Prepares the Executive Director for legislative sessions by collaborating with legislative affairs and coordinating required materials and documentation
  • Compiles, reviews, and summarizes reports from Medicaid sections, ensuring accurate and timely submission to executive leadership and state officials
  • Leads and supports special projects, research initiatives, and stakeholder inquiries while tracking progress, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing regular updates to leadership
