About The Position

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading and managing Environmental Services operations across assigned government contracts to ensure facilities are clean, safe, compliant, and welcoming for all occupants. This role oversees daily contract execution, staff supervision, scheduling, payroll coordination, inventory management, and customer relationship management. The Executive Housekeeper serves as the primary onsite leader, ensuring performance standards, contract requirements, and customer expectations are consistently met while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Healthcare Environmental Services (HES) experience within the last eight (8) years in a medical facility supporting inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) through AHE or Certified/Registered Environmental Services Executive (C/RESE) through IEHA
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of contract administration, personnel practices, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures
  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to service quality
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage Environmental Services operations for all assigned government contracts, ensuring cleaning standards and contractual requirements are met
  • Oversee day-to-day contract performance in accordance with Performance Work Statements (PWS)
  • Create, manage, adjust, and adhere to monthly and annual work schedules
  • Maintain accurate asset logs, inventory records, and supply controls
  • Build and sustain positive client relationships; address and resolve client concerns within contract scope
  • Plan, organize, and communicate daily operational priorities and client requests
  • Manage labor planning, budget oversight, and cost controls aligned with contract requirements
  • Lead, supervise, and support onsite teams across multiple shifts
  • Set employee expectations; provide training, coaching, feedback, and performance oversight
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure task completion and service quality
  • Collaborate with shift leads to coordinate service execution and staffing coverage
  • Manage supply, chemical, and equipment usage; ensure employees are trained in proper handling and safety protocols
  • Promote and cultivate a strong safety culture and safe work environment
  • Utilize operational data to identify efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Complete required administrative tasks and daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
  • Identify opportunities for additional or periodic services to support revenue growth
  • Provide after-hours emergency response support as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
