About The Position

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and friendly service of the entire Hotel, including all guest rooms, public areas, facilities, storage rooms, and guest and house laundry. This role ensures that MCR's standard of providing clean, friendly, well-organized, and safe hotels for guests is met and exceeded.

Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise, or related field preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Effective at listening, understanding, clarifying, and resolving concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
  • Type on and operate computers and other office machinery or devices, do 10-key operation and data entry, dial a telephone, manually manipulate objects, handles, tools, and/or controls.
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, lift and transport supplies of up to 25 pounds throughout the hotel, and move throughout the hotel and the rooms.
  • Inspect and visually observe details at close range (within a few feet) and from long range.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Housekeeping Team, including daily stand-up meetings to review objectives and assign checklists.
  • Ensure all deficiencies are rectified and team members are trained and held accountable for meeting cleaning criteria.
  • Manage room assignments for housekeepers daily, confirming all rooms are cleaned, inspected, and marked correctly in the PMS.
  • Balance and clear room status nightly, comparing reports and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all storage rooms, mechanical rooms, housekeeping closets, and the main housekeeping laundry room.
  • Monitor work orders and submit them to the Engineering department.
  • Maintain required stock of all housekeeping and laundry supplies by ordering needed items monthly/quarterly.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly housekeeping inventories.
  • Maintain and monitor "Lost and Found" procedures and policies.
  • Assign supervisor duties daily and verify completion and quality checks.
  • Monitor proper use of and compliance with hazardous chemicals according to OSHA standards.
  • Perform daily departmental opening duties, including assigning and distributing housekeeper boards and keys, inspecting guest rooms, and closing the department.
