About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation and management of the housekeeping and laundry departments to ensure maximum service quality. Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel including rooms and public areas. Assists in achieving BLA minimum scoring standard on all Brand Quality Assurance inspections. Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and preventative maintenance upkeep on a daily basis. Develop and maintain housekeeping department programs to ensure that the quality criteria are met including deep cleaning, special projects, and preventative maintenance. Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events, changing approach or method to best fit a situation. Delegates work assignments, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities. Asks for and offers help when needed. Prepares for 24/7 business schedule – observes hotel occupancy and create schedules for housekeeping team accordingly. Ready to be onsite due to hotel demands, during weekdays, weekdays, holidays, evenings, and weekends. Foster a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Supervises employees in housekeeping department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in housekeeping function in a hotel or similar industry
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Computer knowledge including intranet, Property management system
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driving history subject to company approval
