About The Position

This position is responsible for providing complete strategic and compassionate leadership for the organization, leading to positive patient outcomes. Directs the activities of Mon EMS to include planning, developing and implementing programs, policies and procedures consistent with organizational goals and objectives and in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Business Management, or other related field.
  • Obtain National Incident Management System (NIMS) upon hire: IS 700 IS 800 IS 100 IS 200
  • Obtain IS 300 within 6 months of hire.
  • Obtain IS 400 within 12 months of hire.
  • Four (4) years of management experience within a community or regional ambulance transport program.

Nice To Haves

  • Non-Restricted Paramedic License and/or Certification in West Virginia or a contiguous state OR Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Program.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Credentialed EMS Officer · Supervising EMS Officer · Managing EMS Officer · EMS Fellow
  • Five (5) years of management experience within a community or regional ambulance transport program.
  • Three (3) years of experience with state, regional or national work groups/committees which focus on healthcare/emergency medical services.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with large budgets, staff and vehicles across a given geographic area.
  • Three (3) years of experience managing EMS Officer Level.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the organization in implementation of strategic and operational plans and policies which serve to enhance the delivery of value to patients, team members, member hospitals and the community-at-large.
  • Oversees all business and operational activities to produce measurable results.
  • Recommends, develops and fosters the organization’s values, culture and philosophy.
  • Provides appropriate management and supervision of organizational business affairs through development and implementation of processes to ensure achievement of operational and financial goals and objectives.
  • Ensures appropriate processes and systems are in place for effective human resource management including employment, development, direction and termination of all employees and contracted staff.
  • Ensures effective succession planning is in place and identifies potential resource implications.
  • Identifies and assesses the organization’s principal business risks and implements systems to effectively manage and mitigate these risks.
  • Trains team members on and enforces compliance with policies and procedures to ensure organizational integrity and adherence to business ethics.
  • Builds and maintains mutual trust relationships with key partners.
  • Ensures structures and systems are in place for effective recommendation, development and review of existing service line expansion or change.
  • Formulates and oversees development of major organizational policy and standards.
  • Selects members of the leadership team and ensures ongoing evaluation of their individual and collective performance.
  • Communicates with community healthcare, emergency services and governmental leaders to promote coordination of efforts and delivery of services which lead to improved patient outcomes and fiscal responsibility.
  • Represents the organization in matters of community, governmental, business and media relations as needed.
  • Analyzes problematic situations to develop meaningful solutions always maintaining personal and organizational integrity.
  • Maintains a deep working knowledge of community and industry trends, standards, opportunities and challenges to properly position the organization as an emergency medical services leader.
