About The Position

The Executive Director serves as the leader of the community and is ultimately responsible for resident satisfaction, team member engagement, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role provides leadership, direction, and accountability to all department leaders while fostering a culture that reflects our mission, purpose, and core values. The Executive Director ensures the community operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while creating an environment where residents thrive, families feel confident, and team members are supported and developed. The Executive Director is expected to lead by example, drive accountability, solve problems proactively, and build a strong leadership team capable of achieving outstanding results.

Requirements

  • Current Indiana Residential Care Administrator (RCA) License or Indiana Health Facility Administrator (HFA) License in good standing.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related service industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple departments and teams.
  • Strong communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational, financial, and census performance data.
  • Working knowledge of Indiana assisted living regulations and survey processes.
  • Ability to effectively lead, develop, and hold leaders accountable for performance.
  • Must maintain a current Indiana Residential Care Administrator (RCA) License or Indiana Health Facility Administrator (HFA) License in good standing throughout employment.
  • Must meet all continuing education requirements required by the State of Indiana.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to move throughout the community regularly.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and community needs outside of normal business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Previous Executive Director, Administrator, or Regional Leadership experience in senior living.
  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy goals, and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience leading survey preparation and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of community operations.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for department leaders.
  • Conduct regular leadership meetings, one-on-one meetings, and performance discussions.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all leaders understand and support company mission, purpose, and values.
  • Develop future leaders and succession plans within the community.
  • Ensure residents receive exceptional care, service, and hospitality.
  • Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Attend Resident Council meetings and ensure follow-up on identified concerns.
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and implement improvement plans when needed.
  • Operate the community within approved budget guidelines.
  • Monitor census, revenue, labor, and operating expenses.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate billing, collections, purchasing, and expense management.
  • Drive occupancy and retention initiatives alongside the Marketing Director.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure survey readiness at all times.
  • Investigate incidents, complaints, and concerns appropriately.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure quality care outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and team members.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing team members.
  • Ensure leaders complete coaching, recognition, and accountability conversations.
  • Promote employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and consistently.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
  • Partner with the Marketing Director to achieve occupancy goals.
  • Participate in tours, move-in planning, and community outreach activities.
  • Review lead management processes and conversion metrics.
  • Support community reputation management and referral relationships.
  • Conduct daily community walkthroughs.
  • Review community dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders, audits, and required documentation.
  • Monitor department performance and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify operational improvements that enhance resident experience and efficiency.
  • Lead with integrity and professionalism.
  • Find solutions before escalating problems.
  • Hold themselves and others accountable.
  • Communicate proactively and transparently.
  • Build trust with residents, families, and team members.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the community.
