Clean and Healthy California (formerly Campaign for a Safe and Healthy California) exists to protect Californians from the fiscal, health, and environmental impacts of Big Oil, while advancing an equitable transition to a clean energy future and away from the waning oil production that currently exists. We are a social welfare and political advocacy organization focused on supporting environmental leaders, health professionals and community organizations holding Big Oil accountable, ensuring that California’s clean energy transition uplifts all communities — especially those most burdened by pollution and inequity. A California where all communities, especially those who have historically been burdened by the health and environmental impacts of Big Oil, are prioritized, protected and heard; where Big Oil is held accountable for its impacts and where the transition to clean energy uplifts all Californians. Working together and across interests, we can advance a just mission away from oil production that uplifts voices across the state. The Executive Director (ED) will serve as the strategic and operational leader of Clean and Healthy California, responsible for advancing its mission across California. The ED will drive statewide policy and advocacy campaigns, lead political engagement efforts, build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, oversee organizational operations and fundraising, and ensure that the organization remains a trusted, effective voice for environmental justice, public health, and clean energy transition. This is a high-profile position that requires vision, coalition-building, political acumen, and a deep commitment to equity and environmental justice.
