About The Position

Los Angeles Jewish Health has been a trusted provider of senior healthcare for over 100 years, offering a wide range of services that prioritize excellence and Jewish values. We serve more than 4,000 seniors across our San Fernando Valley campuses, delivering personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs, from independent living to specialized healthcare programs. Fountainview at Eisenberg Village is Los Angeles Jewish Health’s continuing care retirement community for independent seniors. Its 108 private apartments offer residents easy access to events on and off campus. Residents at Fountainview also enjoy the security of knowing that, should assisted living be required, they have complete access to the continuum of world-renowned services. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations that govern long-term care communities. The goal is to ensure the highest quality of care and service is provided to all residents at all times.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree is necessary.
Must have, as a minimum, 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long‑term care facility.
Must possess a current, unencumbered California Nursing Home Administrator's license or meet the licensure requirements of this state.
Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long‑term care administration.

Nice To Haves

A degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration, or a health related degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's programs and activities.
Develop and maintain written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility.
Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each staff position in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, OSHA, and other pertinent laws governing job positions.
Assist team leaders in the development and implementation of performance evaluations.
Assist in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures, and establish a rapport in and among departments so that each can realize the importance of team work.
Review the facility's policies and procedures periodically, at least annually, and make changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with current regulations (e.g., ADA, ergonomics, air quality, etc.).
Ensure public information (policy manuals, etc.) describing the services provided in the facility is accurate and fully descriptive.
Ensure all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs of the facility.
Represent the facility at and participate in top level meetings.
Represent the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
Assist the Infection Control Coordinator, and/or Committee, in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job‑related functions to ensure tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded.
Make routine inspections of the facility to assure established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the Chief Operating Officer and ombudsman representative as required.
Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.
Delegate a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when you are absent from the facility.
Responsible for coordination of HIPAA.
Serve on various committees of the facility (i.e., Infection Control, Quality Assurance & Assessment, etc.).
Assist the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
Evaluate and implement recommendations from the facility's committees as necessary.
