About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an Executive Director with strong operations leadership experience in hospitality to oversee the general management of their retirement residence. The role involves delivering a superior "More Living" experience to residents, leading a high-performing team, and fostering a culture of excellence. The Executive Director will be responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to ensure exceptional service and resident care. As an operations strategist, they will manage all department operations, ensure compliance with collective agreements, and optimize fiscal resource allocation. They will also implement and maintain policies to meet industry standards and regulations while achieving financial targets. As a sales champion, the Executive Director will focus on sales and occupancy, ensuring the team meets and exceeds targets, and actively promote the residence in the local market. As a financial performance expert, they will set and monitor targets for employee engagement, resident satisfaction, audits, occupancy rates, and net operating profit. As a customer service advocate, they will build strong relationships with employees, residents, and their families, seeking feedback for continuous improvement. Positive relationships with regional teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies are also expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience, preferably in the seniors living industry, hotel, or hospitality-related industry.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends as required).
  • Strong understanding of business planning and processes.
  • Proven track record of achieving marketing, sales, and financial goals.
  • Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or be willing to obtain one.
  • Self-starter with the ability to facilitate change.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning and decision-making.
