About The Position

This role involves contributing to the development and execution of the global Sponsor Coverage (SC) strategy. The Executive Director will provide a structured approach to managing relationships with dedicated financial sponsors (FS), coordinating efforts across various products and teams. The position requires leading strategic discussions, identifying and originating opportunities in areas such as advisory, financing, underwriting, and risk management. The role also involves liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure resource allocation, building strategic pipelines, and representing the SC business both internally and externally. Domestic travel up to 20% is required for client visits and industry conferences, with telecommuting permitted up to 60%.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related field plus eight (8) years of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in an Executive Director – Sponsor Coverage - related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related field plus ten (10) years of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in an Executive Director – Sponsor Coverage - related occupation.
  • Demonstrable broad transactional experience with prime responsibility for the entire transaction process including deal origination, structuring, negotiation, due diligence review, internal approvals, legal documentation execution and where relevant or appropriate debt syndication and post-closing transaction monitoring.
  • Demonstrable experience with leading financial sponsors, company senior management, banks and/or law firms.
  • Demonstrable experience leveraging loans / acquisition finance, capital markets, and/or advisory.
  • Demonstrable ability providing coverage and idea generation to private equity firms investing in the food value chain and energy transition.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the BtB food value chain such as bakery, food ingredients or similar food sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience working in collaboration with colleagues in other countries, including Europe.
  • Ability to articulate strategic plans with clients to internal stakeholders and understanding of internal product abilities and how to best market those to clients.
  • Domestic (U.S.) travel is required up to 20% to visit clients and relevant industry conferences/trade shows.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing and driving the global SC strategy.
  • Provide a structured and consistent approach to coverage of dedicated financial sponsors (FS) and planning.
  • Coordinate all efforts towards FS within and across different products.
  • Lead strategic discussions and pitch opportunities to FS.
  • Organize follow-up and involve relevant product and client groups as appropriate.
  • Actively look for opportunities, whether via advisory, financing, underwriting, risk-management, or elsewhere.
  • Originate potential opportunities, whether discrete or thematic.
  • Liaise with different stakeholders to ensure the allocation of appropriate Rabobank-wide resources.
  • Make the right connections internally and join all the relevant dots across colleagues, geographies, networks, clients and prospects.
  • Engage and work efficiently with a diverse group of internal stakeholders to ensure excellent customer focus and the delivery of high-quality products and services to clients.
  • Build a strategic pipeline with all relevant product and client groups, and for dedicated sectoral and geographic focus.
  • Coordinate internal discussions on own sector and geographic coverage.
  • Represent the SC business both internally and externally (Ambassadorship and networking).
