About The Position

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a dynamic Executive Director of Quality & Safety to lead enterprise-wide efforts across Beverly, Addison Gilbert, and Anna Jaques Hospitals. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will shape strategy, drive performance, and champion a culture where quality outcomes and patient safety are always first. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to shape quality, safety, and patient experience strategy across multiple hospitals, influence executive decision-making and system-wide priorities, drive measurable improvements in clinical outcomes, safety, and equity, and lead teams committed to excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Business, or related field)
  • 5+ years in senior healthcare leadership focused on quality & safety
  • Deep expertise in regulatory standards & accreditation requirements
  • Proven success driving quality improvement and cultural change
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Data-driven decision-making and operational leadership experience

  • Relevant certifications (CPHQ, CPPS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and align all aspects of Quality Improvement & Performance Programs
  • Oversee and align all aspects of Patient Safety & Risk Management
  • Oversee and align all aspects of Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance
  • Oversee and align all aspects of Patient Experience & Grievance Processes
  • Oversee and align all aspects of Data, Reporting & Executive Communication
  • Advance patient-centered, high-quality care
  • Strengthen a culture of safety and transparency
  • Drive data-informed decision making
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all sites
  • Partner with executive and clinical leadership to deliver results
  • Set strategic direction for quality & safety initiatives across all hospitals
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams and site-based leaders
  • Partner with executive leadership (CMO, CNO, COO, CFO, HR)
  • Oversee reporting to Medical Executive Committees & Boards
  • Drive continuous improvement and clinical performance outcomes
  • Strengthen safety programs, including sentinel event review & risk mitigation
  • Advance health equity and patient experience initiatives
