About The Position

The ED/VP Pricing and contracting is responsible for developing and executing the company's pricing strategy across the portfolio, including launch products, and marketed brands. This leader will establish pricing frameworks that optimize patient access, maximize product value, and support long-term business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and government pricing requirements. The role partners closely with Market Access, Commercial, Finance, HEOR, Government Affairs and Legal, to develop evidence-based pricing strategies and recommendations for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in pricing, market access, or commercial strategy roles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing launch pricing strategies in specialty pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and global pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, MPH, PharmD, or advanced degree.
  • Experience in specialty, rare disease, oncology, ophthalmology, or biologics.
  • Global pricing and market access experience.
  • Experience in commercial-stage or launch-stage biotechnology companies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead U.S. and global pricing strategies for pipeline and commercial products.
  • Build and operationalize internal pricing infrastructure inclusive of pricing governance, strategic pricing processes and pricing committee management
  • Establish launch pricing recommendations based on clinical value, competitive landscape, market dynamics, and payer expectations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop GPO, IDN contracting strategies
  • Build pricing scenarios and strategic options to optimize market access and revenue performance.
  • Develop long-term pricing strategies across the product lifecycle
  • Lead pricing activities for product launches, ensuring alignment with commercial, access, and financial objectives.
  • Develop launch pricing governance processes and decision frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure pricing readiness and successful product commercialization.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, reimbursement changes, and evolving payer dynamics.
  • Conduct pricing research and assess willingness-to-pay analyses.
  • Evaluate pricing implications of competitor launches, biosimilars, and changes in treatment paradigms.
  • Develop pricing and contracting models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate gross-to-net impacts and pricing sensitivities.
  • Partner with Finance to support forecasting, long-range planning, and investor communications.
  • Provide executive recommendations based on pricing analytics and business insights.
  • Partner with payer strategy, trade and distribution and HEOR teams to develop value propositions that support pricing objectives.
  • Work closely with trade and distribution on GPO and purchasing network contract strategies
  • Ensure pricing strategies align with payer evidence requirements and reimbursement expectations.
  • Support negotiations and strategic discussions with payers and channel partners.
  • Establish global pricing principles and governance frameworks.
  • Develop international reference pricing strategies and launch sequencing recommendations.
  • Lead pricing committee processes and executive review meetings.
  • Partner with Government Pricing teams to understand implications of pricing decisions on: Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, Medicare Part B and Part D requirements, 340B pricing, Federal Supply Schedule pricing, Inflation Reduction Act implications
  • Ensure all pricing activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
