The Office of Career Management (OCM) provides comprehensive job search coaching programs and services to over 9,000 undergraduate and over 1,200 graduate students seeking internships and post graduate positions within the Fisher College of Business (FCOB) and provides on campus and virtual recruiting programs and services to several local and global brands annually. Through a variety of best-in-class career preparation programs, recruiting venues, job search skill development programs and services, and a robust and diverse recruiting portfolio, the Fisher College of Business is annually among the top public business schools in the U.S. for the percentage of students securing internships and post graduate employment. The Executive Director, Office of Career Management, exercises independent authority and provides strategic leadership and oversight of all career development, employer engagement, and job placement functions within the college. This role is responsible for driving student career readiness, improving employment outcomes, and pipelining academic programs with workforce needs. Additionally, the Executive Director monitors key performance metrics, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and collaborates across departments to enhance student success and institutional reputation. Formulates and implements data driven annual and multi-year strategies for program and service offerings, human capital needs and overall resource allocations to ensure ongoing excellence in student employment outcomes and employer engagement. Closely collaborates with the Graduate Programs Office (GPO) and the Undergraduate Programs Office (UPO) to build relationships with current, prospective and former students. This includes supporting the units’ admission goals, curriculum enhancement activities, orientation programs, rankings and overall student and alumni engagement within the college. Responsible for ensuring the office achieves the strategic priorities set by the Dean and/or university. Manages unit budget in collaboration with the executive director for finance and administration, including collaborating on revenue generation through career events and corporate sponsorships as well as overall management of college and university allocated funds supporting the OCM. Collaborates with multiple leaders within the college in support of stakeholder engagement: executive education, multiple Centers of Excellence, academic department chairs, advancement teams including the alumni relations office, marketing and communications, Advancing Community Connections and Empowering Student Success office (ACCESS), Office of Global Business (OGB), Dean’s senior leadership team, Dean’s Advisory Council, Senior Staff Committee and other offices, departments, centers, units and committees as appropriate. Oversees robust data collection processes and a data insights team to provide semi-annual impact reports and annual reports highlighting student employment outcomes and innovative programs and services. Collaborates with marketing and communications team to ensure appropriate career management content is published on Fisher’s primary channels and explore new and innovative ways of sharing Fisher’s robust career management successes with internal and external stakeholders.. Actively participates in regional, national, and international professional/industry associations and seeks leadership roles when possible. Participates in college and university initiatives and committees as requested. Supports similar opportunities and engagement for the OCM team.
