About The Position

Provide leadership, support, and human resource services to the district's programs and employees and to foster a working climate that enhances productivity and effectiveness. The primary function is to provide leadership for identified human resource services in the district. Specifically, responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising the human resource systems to promote the effectiveness of the school district. Develops and promotes positive community relations among various community and school clientele.

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • Five (5) years of successful administrative experience in public schools, human resources, and/or labor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a working environment for all district employees by promoting effective human resource practices, by implementing Federal and State laws and district policies in a fair and equitable manner and by promoting a cooperative and collaborative working climate.
  • Administers district policy and provides leadership to principals and department managers regarding human resource issues to foster fair and equitable treatment, growth and development regarding human resource practices, creative problem solving, and positive human relations.
  • Implements the district's program of employee discipline, up to and including terminations, in a manner to ensure compliance with all district policies, federal, and state statute.
  • Directs the remediation process outlined in the teacher evaluation policy by consulting and advising principals as to the provisions of the policy, requirements of the statute, and recommended practices to be followed.
  • Provides and advises the Superintendent, District Leadership Team and administrative staff with timely information related to human resource policies and procedures to assist them as they perform their responsibilities and duties.
  • Implements the negotiation, grievance, and employee relations functions as assigned to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Acts as negotiator for certificated employee groups as appropriate.
  • Keeps informed about governmental statutes, regulations, and rules relating to Human Resource administration and advises interested parties of the provisions of the law to ensure that the district is current in its knowledge and application of statute.
  • Supervises and directs the administration of all district employee-related insurance programs to ensure that all employees receive the appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Supervises and directs the planning and coordination of wage and salary administration to ensure the employees of the district are compensated in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Develops short-term and long-term plans necessary for the Office of Human Resources to accomplish goals and objectives that are consistent with the district's mission and priorities.
  • Supervises and directs the maintenance of the system of human resources records for all employees to ensure accuracy and legality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
