About The Position

Assisted Living and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, continuing care services, and other social-based programs. Requirements

  • Significant senior management experience overseeing complex front-line social service programs within a large public-sector environment.
  • Strong financial management expertise.
  • Solid understanding of citizen‑centred service delivery models.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex program initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience fostering effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring program, policy, and financial compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience building high‑performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of social programs and service delivery is considered an asset.
  • A related degree in computer science, social or health sciences, business, or public policy is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction on key innovation initiatives in the department.
  • Direct the strategic and tactical planning, development and management of the Ministry’s information system.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and process modernization of department IT systems, system coordination and quality assurance processes and monitoring and enhancing pathways.
  • Collaborate with a wide network of key stakeholders, including Ministry divisions, external partners and the department of Technology and Innovation, to ensure that client and financial systems are improved for simpler, modern and accessible digital services for low-income and vulnerable Albertans.
  • Guide a team in ensuring the planning and implementation of the digital roadmap goals for modernization and continuous improvement of business and information technology systems and that they are coordinated, collaborative and refashioned with a user centric lens.
