The Executive Director, Employer Sales leads performance, growth, retention, and execution across a large pharmacy benefit management employer sales organization. This role serves as the operational and strategic leader for employer sales, translating enterprise and segment priorities into measurable business outcomes while ensuring consistent execution across teams and client portfolios. Acting as the organizational lead, the Executive Director drives alignment among senior sales leaders, establishes performance expectations, and ensures disciplined execution against growth, retention, profitability, and client satisfaction objectives. Success is achieved through leadership influence, enterprise partnerships, data-driven decision making, and strong operating rigor—rather than direct account management responsibilities. This leader plays a critical role in helping CVS Caremark anticipate market dynamics, respond to competitive pressures, and position solutions that address employer needs in an increasingly complex healthcare environment. The Executive Director serves as a key liaison between field sales leadership and enterprise stakeholders, helping to shape priorities, remove barriers to execution, and ensure strategic initiatives are translated into measurable results. The role is highly collaborative and matrixed, requiring strong partnerships across Product, Clinical Solutions, Underwriting, Finance, Operations, Analytics, Marketing, Consultant Relations, Legal, and Technology teams. In addition, the Executive Director serves as a senior market-facing leader, representing CVS Caremark in critical client interactions, consultant engagements, finalist presentations, and strategic business reviews.
