Executive Director, Data Preservation

This role is for an Executive Director who will be responsible for managing and leading a community governance program within the Filecoin ecosystem. The main focus of the role is to cultivate a strong and engaged community that collaborates effectively with development teams and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to navigate conflicts and uncertainties while maintaining a positive tone. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive community governance strategy, resolving conflicts, and driving community growth and outreach.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive community governance strategy
• Create guidelines, policies, and processes for community decision-making and conflict resolution
• Lead and manage a diverse team of approximately 10 individuals
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
• Oversee and coordinate the work of various contractors contributing to the community governance program
• Engage with the Filecoin community and actively listen to their needs, concerns, and suggestions
• Address and mediate conflicts within the community promptly and professionally
• Utilize strong analytical skills to gather and interpret relevant data for data-driven decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure community governance aligns with broader organizational goals
• Organize and lead community events, webinars, workshops, and educational programs
• Proactively work on expanding the Filecoin community and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in community management and leadership roles, ideally within the blockchain or cryptocurrency industry.
• Proven experience managing and leading teams, demonstrating exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent conflict resolution and mediation abilities, with a track record of handling difficult community situations with empathy and diplomacy.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, leveraging data to inform strategic choices.
• A deep understanding of blockchain technology, decentralized networks, and the principles of community governance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity with the Filecoin ecosystem and a passion for decentralized storage and blockchain technology is a plus.
