About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OBGYN) Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Executive Director, Clinical Operations (H) to work in Miami, FL. The Executive Director, Clinical Operations assumes responsibility for the direction and management of the assigned clinical facilities. This position oversees fiscal planning, management and patient accounting, budget and audits, disbursement, personnel management, space planning, inventory control, and general administration. Moreover, the incumbent strives to increase physician and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required

  • Skilled in aligning departmental goals with enterprise-wide strategy and develops comprehensive strategic plans.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility, and optimization of financial performance.
  • Ability to allocate resources and drive innovation and growth.
  • Proven ability to adjust to changes and leads/inspires transformational change.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Understanding of technology, data analytics, and performance measurement to drive strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
  • Ability to influence others, articulate strategic vision, and ensure clear and persuasive communication.
  • Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all patient, physician, and staff complaints are appropriate addressed in accordance with University policies.
  • Monitors the activities and operations of the assigned units to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Develops system-wide policies and procedures, assuring best practices and consistent standardized high-quality care is provided at all locations.
  • Optimizes staffing models, and patient throughput and satisfaction, and ensures efficient utilization of exam room resources.
  • Implements new programs to create innovative approaches to care and establish best practices.
  • Oversees compliance with regulatory agencies and professional organizational standards.
  • Oversees, mentors, trains, motivates, and evaluates department staff.
  • Plans for future growth by assessing existing and future program needs, establishing priorities, and identifying fiscal and human resources for development.
  • Participates in planning, promoting, and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support the Tamer Institute for Women's Health's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, medical directors, and department chairs to establish short- and long-term goals for women's health services.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion, market growth, and service optimization.
  • Lead strategic initiatives focused on improving access, patient experience, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Support the development of new women's health programs, facilities, technologies, and care models.
  • Provide oversight of daily operations for all clinical programs within the Institute for Women's Health, including but not limited to: Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Breast Health Services Women's Primary Care Menopause and Healthy Aging Programs Specialty Women's Health Clinics
  • Ensure effective patient flow, scheduling, capacity management, and clinic productivity.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Standardize processes and promote best practices across departments and sites.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical quality.
  • Monitor quality indicators, patient satisfaction scores, and outcome measures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Lead operational readiness efforts for regulatory surveys and audits.
  • Support risk management and patient safety initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensure responsible stewardship of financial resources while meeting performance targets.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to improve productivity, efficiency, and revenue performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and resource optimization without compromising quality.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with physician leaders, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support physician engagement, recruitment, retention, and succession planning efforts.
  • Facilitate alignment between clinical and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted operational advisor to women's health leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop clinical and administrative management teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Promote leadership development and succession planning across the institute.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodologies.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive operational decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Lead initiatives focused on enhancing patient access, throughput, efficiency, and care coordination.
  • Evaluate emerging healthcare trends and innovative models of care relevant to women's health.
  • Represent the Tamer Institute for Women's Health in organizational committees, community partnerships, and external collaborations.
  • Support outreach efforts that advance women's health awareness and access to care.
  • Collaborate with marketing, philanthropy, research, and academic partners to support institute objectives.
