About The Position

The Executive Director, Career Centre provides visionary, strategic direction and leadership for the development and growth of Goodwill's Career Centre. Requirements

  • Strategic leadership and enterprise thinking.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including revenue modelling and cost management.
  • Experience in revenue diversification and/or social enterprise development.
  • Market insight and ability to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Partnership development with a commercial and strategic lens.
  • Change leadership and transformation management.
  • Data-driven decision-making and performance management.
  • Executive communication and influence (government, funders, industry).
  • 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience, including leadership responsibility for strategy, financial performance, and team development.
  • Demonstrated experience in building or scaling programs.
  • Proven success in developing diversified revenue streams (e.g., fee-for-service, partnerships, or social enterprise models).
  • Experience managing P&L or program budgets with accountability for financial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of workforce development and employment services.
  • Experience working with government funding systems.
  • Post-secondary education in business, public administration, social services, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience considered an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year growth and sustainability strategy for the Career Centre, reducing reliance on government funding.
  • Establish and achieve revenue diversification targets, including fee-for-service, employer partnerships, and alternative funding streams.
  • Identify and implement new business lines, pilots, or social enterprise models aligned with workforce development.
  • Position the Career Centre as a preferred provider of workforce solutions within the regional labour market.
  • Use data, labour market intelligence, and client insights to design scalable, responsive programs.
  • Lead the incubation and scaling of new service models.
  • Follow all safety standards set out in legislation and/or Goodwill policies.
  • Be actively involved in the health, well-being and safety of themselves and their team.
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and reporting.
