About The Position

For nearly 50 years, Jesuit Social Services has stood in solidarity with people and communities where the need is greatest. This includes those impacted by social, economic and ecological injustices. We understand the interconnectedness of all life and that we are all held and sustained in a web of relationships – across people, place and planet. In our work we see first hand the impacts of persistent and entrenched disadvantage; the isolation and exclusion of vulnerable people and groups; unacceptable levels of homelessness, mental illness, and imprisonment; and disengagement from education and employment. All of this is compounded by the disproportionate impacts of environmental degradation and climate change on those most in need. This compels us to seek out new ways of thinking and operating – our business is to find solutions. The Executive Director – Business Services and Sustainability is a key organisational leader responsible for ensuring Jesuit Social Services’ people, finances, infrastructure, systems and processes support the delivery of our vision and purpose now and into the future. We are seeking a strategic, values-led and commercially astute executive who can lead People and Culture, Finance, ICT, Property and Operations, Governance, Quality, Risk and Compliance functions, while driving the transformation of systems and processes that support high quality work across the organisation. As a member of the Jesuit Social Services Executive Team, you will model and uphold our organisational values of being welcoming, discerning and courageous. Working closely with the CEO, COO and Executive colleagues, you will provide strategic leadership across our business services, strengthening financial sustainability, workforce engagement, operational systems and ecological justice. Attractive salary and salary packaging is offered together with ongoing professional and career development. This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, with a presence required at Richmond and other Jesuit Social Services locations as needed.
