About The Position

As the Executive Communications Specialist, you’ll be responsible for supporting communications, events, and other engagements for the Best Buy CEO and other members of the senior leadership team. In this role, you'll plan and bring employee engagement initiatives to life, craft compelling communications and leadership messaging, prepare speakers for key engagements, support impactful live events, and help ensure important information reaches employees at every level of the organization. You'll also coordinate the logistics that make these experiences seamless and successful. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, media relations, marketing or related field
  • 1 year of experience in managing small-medium sized projects
  • Effective time management skills and ability to complete given tasks perfectly within the given time
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments from conception to completion on deadline
  • Proficient skill and knowledge of visual communication software (Adobe, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Effective communicator; proficient in written and verbal communication

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience creating communications for C-Suite executives
  • 1 year of experience working cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write and execute daily and weekly employee engagement briefings for top executives, including the CEO.
  • Effectively execute on timely opportunities for executive employee engagement, which may include anything from drafting a leader note or composing a post for LinkedIn.
  • Provide support for executives and other leaders for internal enterprise events and meetings.
  • Partner with cross functional leaders to develop topics and agendas for enterprise events.
  • Create visually engaging PowerPoint decks for various events and audiences.
  • Prepare and present briefing documents, speaking notes and/or speeches for officer- and executive-level leaders participating in these events.
  • Correspond with internal and external stakeholders; representing Best Buy and leaders in a positive and professional manner through written, verbal and in-person communication.
  • Protect and enhance the Best Buy reputation and brand through written and presented deliverables.
