About The Position

Our client's Communications team is seeking an Executive Communications Specialist to provide dedicated communications and project management support to the CFO (currently new to the organization) and his broader leadership team. This role sits within the central Communications function — it is not a finance role, and no finance background is required. What matters most is strong executive-level communications experience and the ability to execute polished, high-quality content quickly. This is an individual contributor role reporting into the Senior Director of Internal and Executive Communications. The Specialist will not interact directly with the executive but will execute on communication strategies developed by the internal team.

Requirements

  • Executive-level communications experience — supporting a C-suite or senior leadership function is required, regardless of specific functional area (finance, HR, legal, etc.).
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to translate raw information into polished, executive-ready content.
  • Comfort and proficiency using AI tools (Microsoft Copilot or similar) as part of the drafting workflow — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills for building executive presentations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams; experience creating structured, executive-level channel content.
  • Event planning / project management experience, particularly around town halls — able to track and manage project steps independently.
  • Working familiarity with (or ability to quickly learn) Viva Engage and Smartsheet — deep expertise not required, but understanding of how Smartsheet functions for calendar/scheduling purposes is helpful.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare industry experience (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Draft first-pass event briefs for the CFO's engagements using existing templates — covering purpose, attendees, talking points, anticipated questions, and desired audience takeaways.
  • Use Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools to generate first drafts of executive communications, prompts, and content (e.g., drafting fireside chat questions), significantly reducing manual drafting time.
  • Support the planned launch of a Teams channel for the CFO to communicate with his leadership team — creating executive-level content following the existing internal playbook.
  • Draft internal posts for the CFO on their internal social/engagement platform, in a style similar to his event briefs.
  • Build polished PowerPoint presentations and slides to support executive engagements and town halls.
  • Provide comms and light project management support for a broader change transformation initiative that will roll out in waves, with anticipated content needs at the start of the new calendar year.
  • Support planning and logistics for town halls, including tracking project steps and coordinating moving pieces.
