The Executive Chef is responsible for managing all operational functions of the Culinary aspects within the Unit’s operation. This includes interviewing, hiring, evaluating, rewarding, and coaching kitchen personnel. The role involves developing culinary training programs, ensuring safety training, and training kitchen staff on safe operating procedures and food production principles. The Executive Chef will also assist the General Manager with sales forecasts, direct and coordinate the work of production and dish room staff, and maintain a positive relationship with the client’s staff. Key responsibilities include supervising inventory, directing food preparation, monitoring cooking temperatures, establishing maintenance schedules for equipment, and ensuring overall consistency and high quality of food preparation and service. The Executive Chef will also place food orders, evaluate raw food quality, implement sanitary practices, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Financial management is crucial, including controlling food costs, managing payroll, and meeting budget expectations. The role also involves incorporating sustainable resources, promoting an inclusive and supportive approach, and supporting community engagement efforts.
