About The Position

Autumn House Williamsburg is seeking an Executive Chef to build a strong culinary program, lead a high-performing team, and create exceptional food for residents, families, and guests. This role is responsible for the entire kitchen operation, from menu development and execution to team leadership, food quality, and financial management. The ideal candidate will bring hospitality-level dining to senior living, focusing on creating memorable dining experiences.

Requirements

• Professional culinary experience in senior living, hospitality, resorts, hotels, clubs, restaurants, or another high-volume environment
• Previous experience leading a kitchen and culinary team
• Strong menu-development and food-production skills
• Knowledge of food cost, purchasing, sanitation, inventory, and kitchen operations
• Strong communication and people-leadership skills
• An eye for quality, presentation, and the guest experience
• Ability to run a disciplined operation without losing creativity
• Food handler certification

• Culinary education
• 2+ years of culinary management experience

Responsibilities

• Menu design, recipe development, and plate presentation
• Daily food preparation and dining service
• Ensuring food quality, freshness, consistency, and presentation
• Hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and developing culinary staff
• Managing ordering, procurement, inventory, food cost, and waste
• Overseeing department budgets, forecasting, timecards, and payroll
• Maintaining food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
• Accommodating modified diets and texture requirements
• Ensuring resident and guest satisfaction
• Planning and executing special events and dining experiences
• Maintaining kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and overall department standards
