About The Position

Reflection Ridge Retirement in Wichita, KS is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations in our Luxury Independent Senior Living community. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced culinary leader who is passionate about scratch-made cuisine, hospitality, and team development. As Executive Chef, you'll lead our Culinary and Dining Team in a true hands-on working chef role. You'll work alongside your team preparing fresh, scratch-made meals, mentoring staff, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for Residents. You'll oversee our Signature Freedom Dining program, creating a resort-style dining experience through exceptional food quality, flexible dining options, and genuine Resident engagement. Your leadership will play a key role in making dining one of the highlights of community life.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Culinary leadership experience with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-quality dining experiences.
  • Hands-on leadership style, leading by example while working alongside your team in daily kitchen operations.
  • Strong communication and hospitality skills with a resident-focused approach.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • ServSafe Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Outlook and Excel.

  • Culinary education or training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside the culinary team in daily kitchen operations, preparing and serving high-quality, scratch-made meals with exceptional presentation.
  • Maintain excellence in food quality and safety, ensuring compliance with all food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and kitchen safety standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members, partnering with the Dining Room Supervisor to deliver a seamless dining experience.
  • Manage culinary operations, including purchasing, receiving, inventory control, vendor relationships, invoicing, labor scheduling, and cost management.
  • Build meaningful relationships with Residents by gathering feedback, hosting Chef Chats, Cooking Demos, and tailoring menus to meet Resident preferences and expectations.
