About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef to manage culinary operations and production at Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ. This role emphasizes food quality, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and inventory control. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who fosters an inclusive culture and drives business success, inspiring students through food and teaching about sustainable resources.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of management experience.
  • 2 years of work experience in food or culinary services (restaurants, fast food, vending, catering, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.).
  • Strong culinary background with demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards.
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills.
  • Passion for food and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage catering, purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and food production forecasting.
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality, are implemented.
  • Develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Utilize automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems.
