About The Position

This position acts as the Executive Assistant to the Commission and the Director. It performs administrative duties for the Deputy Director for Education and general education related assignments as requested. The role is also responsible for mailing renewal notices and preparing certificates for professional corporations and limited liability companies, among various other duties. Responsibilities may include: arrangements for Commission Meeting sites and Commissioner travel needs for meetings, preparing exhibits and mailings, updating manuals, and performing clerical duties as necessary. For the Education Assistant role, responsibilities include: mail notifications, preparing letters and reports according to deadlines established by the Director, and preparing accurate approval/rejection letters after Commission Meetings. The position also assists with other office tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency OR experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including the use of personal computers and office equipment.
  • Knowledge of administrative office clerical support procedures.
  • Skilled in effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft applications.
  • Skilled in use of computer.
  • Ability to organize workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to be detailed-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience working with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Experience in a legal setting or regulatory knowledge of legal terminology.
