About The Position

This is independent work assisting management in the coordination of administrative tasks and/or assignments which are complex in nature and very broad in objective with integration of diverse functions. Work involves the performance of administrative activities which involve independently planning administrative objectives and priorities. Work also involves independent formulation, analysis and recommendation of changes in policies, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as receptionist, greeting guests, and announcing and routing visitors to the appropriate staff;
  • Scheduling and coordinating all appointments and meetings, including travel plans for the Colonel, Major and Captain when needed, and correlating these appointments with necessary key personnel and obtaining the required meeting materials;
  • Assisting in conducting daily administrative activities and/or directing special projects or activities;
  • Tracking incoming correspondence and responses to ensure proper and timely follow-up and completion by assigned staff;
  • Tracking the schedule of reports for Capitol Police, providing reminders prior to their due date and following up to ensure timely completion and submission of reports;
  • Maintaining electronic copies of all department memorandums and directives;
  • Processing all travel for Capitol Police members;
  • Monitoring and maintaining line inspections for Capitol Police; and
  • Coordinating the processing and recordkeeping of dual employment requests for the department’s members in coordination with the Office of Human Resources and the Office of General Counsel.
