About The Position

At the direction of Senior Vice President, responsible for providing expertise and leading priority efforts related to the design, development, and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan(s). Includes the planning, organization, and direction of strategic initiatives and portfolio management functions within the leadership scope. Leads development of certain business plans to optimize operations and resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation or other quantitative discipline
  • Ten (10) years’ progressive experience in areas of cross-functional and/or enterprise project management, quantitative analysis, forecasting, process improvement, logistics, or market/competitive analysis
  • Five (5) years leadership experience, which may include people management and project, team or leadership advisory positions
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to draw insights from analytics and convey in a meaningful and impactful manner.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different levels across the organization and enterprise.
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to set direction for strategic leadership discussions and demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation of complex initiatives.
  • Ability to build rapport with stakeholders, balance competing interests, anticipate and proactively remediate challenges, positively influence diverse groups and facilitate sometimes controversial dialogue.
  • Leadership and people skills proficiency enabling consensus building and ultimate successful implementation of initiatives that deliver significant business value.

Nice To Haves

  • This position requires up to 30% travel.
  • The desired location for this position would be Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, or Plano, TX. However, this position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories.
  • Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise to and strategic evaluation of high impact projects for senior leadership. Provides direction where needed to ensure effective project management and alignment of initiatives to overall strategic objectives.
  • Motivates and collaborates with key stakeholders throughout the FedEx enterprise to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Works with senior leadership and other departments leading various activities required in the ongoing development of strategic plans and the implementation of initiatives.
  • Represents the senior leader, fostering effective relationships, high collaboration, and open communication among functional areas to support corporate objectives and company success.
  • Acts as a liaison between functions or groups when necessary to ensure connectivity and continuity across related initiatives and/or competing objectives.
  • Identifies trends and opportunities for the business, scanning external markets and collaborating with business partners.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of and involved in outside environmental factors impacting the business and customer base.
  • Interacts with all levels of employees on a routine basis.
  • Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
