About The Position

The exchange planner is responsible for the planning and administration associated with the OEM Machine Shop and Welding areas. Responsibilities include review of salvage velocity, salvage queue management, and inventory management for salvage consumables. They are accountable for supporting Internal Fab WO Opening, salvage scheduling, customer required dates, work instructions. Success is measured by: RFA conversions, salvage lead time, customer demand fulfilment, WIP administration, and month plan creation. They are also responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships and collaborating with other production planners in creative problem solving for the value stream.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience in parts planning and/or supply chain management
  • Minimum 2 years related experience or an acceptable combination of education and work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Previous OEM experience is an asset
  • CAT product knowledge considered an asset
  • Bachelor of Commerce or other relevant post-secondary education considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review RFA requirements daily to support production assembly plans
  • Account for inventory of salvage supermarket parts, batched -U and -SAL parts, and internal fabrication parts
  • Meet lead time requirements for salvage-only work orders, communicating thorough and effective progress updates to the Network Salvage Planner
  • Regular review and adjustment of plans to changing circumstances in a highly dynamic environment
  • Communicate plans and priorities to involved parties responsible for plan execution, including downstream production planners and production managers
  • Communicate expected salvage completion dates by WO, communicating delays and risks to TAT commitments made to internal customers
  • Monitor flow of tags/parts through the salvage areas to ensure parts are being processed in alignment with plan requirements
  • Generate and communicate plan attainment and asset backlog reporting (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Ensure operating system is up to date on a daily basis
