About The Position
Our organization is seeking a committed and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will support learners with a wide range of abilities and instructional needs, ensuring they have the tools, guidance, and encouragement required to grow academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers, school leaders, and families to design and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) that reflect each studentâs strengths, goals, and areas of support. Collaboration will be central to your work as you help coordinate services, share insights, and ensure a consistent, student-centered approach across all learning environments. As an advocate for students with exceptional needs, you will cultivate a classroom culture that embraces diversity and fosters confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Your responsibilities will also include implementing behavior supports and proactive interventions that reinforce positive skill development and contribute to studentsâ emotional and behavioral success.
Requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Previous experience teaching in special education or a related capacity
- A bachelorâs degree in Special Education or a related field is required
- An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement is required for this position.
