About The Position

Carolina Therapeutics Academy is seeking exceptional children's assistant preschool teachers to provide educational instruction and behavior monitoring to children with special needs aged 2-6. Teachers work as part of a team with educators and clinical therapists under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The academy offers a half-day special needs day school program (9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) with a curriculum modeled after the Carolina Curriculum for Preschoolers with Special Needs and the Carolina Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers with Special Needs. Therapeutic clinical services are provided by clinicians employed by Carolina Therapeutics, PLLC. Teachers are trained as registered behavior technicians and can provide ABA therapy services during clinical hours if desired. All teachers must have an educational and/or employment background in early childhood education and/or special education and commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. RBT training and certification are required and provided/compensated by Carolina Therapeutics, PLLC. A background check is mandatory. Applicants must be comfortable and experienced with children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum.

Requirements

  • Pass a background check.
  • Undergo Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and earn RBT certification.
