About The Position

Movement Schools is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and scholar-centered Contract Exceptional Children's (EC) Coordinator to lead special education services at the school level. This contracted role ensures that scholars with disabilities receive high-quality, compliant, and inclusive services that support both academic success and personal growth. As Contract EC Coordinator, you will provide on-site coordination of special education programming, compliance, and records for scholars with disabilities, working from a schedule provided by the Network EC Director. You will partner closely with school leaders, teachers, service providers, and families to implement effective programming, maintain compliance with IDEA and Georgia Rules 160-4-7, and build staff capacity to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid GaPSC certification in Special Education — General Curriculum and/or Adapted Curriculum — or documented eligibility
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in special education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, Georgia Rules 160-4-7, IEP development, and compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of GO-IEP, or ability to become proficient quickly
  • Adherence to the Georgia Code of Ethics for Educators (GaPSC Rule 505-6-.01)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in leadership or charter environments is a plus.
  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
  • Experience serving as an EC Coordinator, Case Manager, or Special Education Lead
  • Experience in a charter or mission-driven school environment
  • Familiarity with inclusive and co-teaching models
  • Experience with Georgia state reporting, including FTE and Federal Child Count

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee special education services in accordance with IDEA, Georgia Rules 160-4-7, and GaDOE requirements
  • Follow the schedule provided by the Network EC Director to serve scholars and campuses
  • Coach and support teachers and service providers in implementing IEPs with fidelity, including accommodations and modifications
  • Support inclusive and co-teaching service delivery models aligned to each scholar's needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction by attending designated planning and Intellectual Preparation meetings
  • Monitor scholar progress and use data to inform instructional and service decisions
  • Manage all evaluation, eligibility, and IEP timelines in the Georgia Online IEP system (GO-IEP)
  • Ensure initial evaluations are completed within 60 calendar days of parental consent, and IEPs developed within 30 calendar days of eligibility
  • Ensure IEPs are reviewed at least annually and reevaluations occur at least every three years
  • Lead Child Find, including Student Support Team (SST) and parent referrals
  • Serve as the LEA representative at IEP meetings when authorized in writing by the School Leader
  • Ensure IEPs, eligibility reports, consents, Prior Written Notice, and progress reports are complete, timely, and meet state requirements
  • Ensure scholars are properly coded in Infinite Campus and GO-IEP data extracts to FTE accurately
  • Support October and March FTE counts, Student Record, CPI, and Federal Child Count
  • Maintain audit-ready files for GaDOE monitoring, record reviews, and state complaints
  • Communicate with families regarding scholar data, services, and progress
  • Provide the Georgia Parental Rights in Special Education notice at required intervals
  • Ensure meeting notices are issued at least 10 calendar days in advance
  • Collaborate with the ML team to ensure a request for an IEP meeting interpreter is submitted within 48 hours of notice
