About The Position

OCL Group Inc. (OCL) is a 100% Canadian, privately held, employee-owned general contractor with design-build solutions across Western Canada, serving the energy and municipal infrastructure markets since 2009. We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Excavator Operator to join our team at a project in Fort McMurray. This is a camp-based position, with flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton hub airports. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience operating heavy equipment in oil sands environments.

Requirements

5+ years of excavator operating experience, preferably in oil sands, industrial, pipeline or heavy civil construction
Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Strong communication skills
Valid Ground Disturbance ticket
Familiarity with GPS and other tracking devices
Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

Experience operating excavators ranging from 30-ton to 80-ton class equipment
Proven experience with trenching, utility installation, ditching, grading and production excavation

Responsibilities

Ability to safety operate excavator
Work cooperatively with crew to accomplish tasks
Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with safety policies procedures and regulations
Ensure a safe team environment
Perform daily routine maintenance on machine including lubrication and monitor needed repairs/service requirements
Operate equipment while maintaining proper awareness of surroundings
Understand and complete pre and post safety checks
Compliance with all safety regulations
