We are currently looking for a heavy equipment excavator operator to assist our construction team in Revelstoke. The successful candidate will be an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have the training and confidence to aid the construction team in projects.

Requirements

  • Experience operating excavators is required.
  • Physically fit to perform duties.
  • Willing to do shift work.
  • Class 5 License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in heavy construction is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-shift checks and complete the Mobile Equipment Check List.
  • Warm up and refuel equipment prior to the start of the workday.
  • Keep windows, mirrors, and lights clean and free of any items obscuring visibility.
  • Maintain operable fire extinguishers, fire tools, shovel & Pulaski on the machine.
  • Maintain a daily logbook of machine hours.
  • Immediately notify supervisor and/or site mechanic of any problems.
  • Be familiar with environmental spill response procedures.
  • Read and understand documents commonly used with their equipment, such as design details and drawings.
  • Be familiar with and understand the project’s Environmental Response Plan and company’s environmental objectives, rules, and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner according to Provincial regulations and site safety standards.
