Requirements

Three or more years of related construction experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Texas Driver's License with proper endorsements, depending on assignment.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America to qualify for employment.
Must complete and pass a drug screen.
Must complete and pass a medical exam to ensure physical and/or mental capacity to complete the tasks required by the job (for field positions).
Some positions require completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket for excavating ditches, structures, and mass excavations.
Lays pipe and precast concrete structures, loads trucks, and places rock riprap.
May operate machines equipped with various hydraulic attachments.
Starts engines, moves throttles, switches, and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines.
Signals truck drivers to position trucks for loading.
Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions.
May perform routine maintenance such as oiling and greasing the machine.
Makes necessary adjustments to equipment.
Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Performs other duties as assigned.
