About The Position

GFL Environmental is looking for an Excavator Operator to join our team in Mildred Lake just north of Fort McMurray, AB! The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate various excavators and other necessary machinery to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.

Requirements

Proven ability to operate various excavators and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if required.
Proven ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple variables in a standardized setting.
Ability to read and understand equipment gauges and perform basic mathematical functions.
Physical capability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Nice To Haves

Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement is an asset.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.
Steer, guide, and/or drive assigned equipment using controls such as steering wheels, shifters, levers, buttons, and pedals.
Communicate effectively via two-way radio with co-workers in the field and office regarding work activities and daily priorities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, as well as company policies and safety regulations.
