About The Position
Garney Construction is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for a position in Riverview, FL. This role involves operating machinery for various tasks including excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean up. The operator may also perform laborer duties as needed. The position requires safe operation of an excavator as part of a crew, performing operator-level maintenance on machinery, understanding safe working loads and signals, and handling trench boxes of various sizes and shapes.
Requirements
- Five years of construction experience.
- Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
- Operate an excavator safely as part of a crew.
- Perform operator level maintenance on the machine.
- Understand safe working loads and signals.
- Handle trench boxes of all sizes and shapes.
- Perform activities such as excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean up.
- Perform functions of a laborer as required.
