About The Position

We are now accepting resume/applications for EXPERIENCED Excavator Operators for the Thibodaux, LA and surrounding areas. This role involves the safe operation of excavators and other machinery to perform a variety of construction tasks. The position requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, daily equipment maintenance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The duration of the job is approximately 4 years, with a need for a positive, can-do attitude as tasks beyond those listed may be assigned.

Requirements

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OPERATING AN EXCAVATOR
Proficient in excavators of all sizes, haul trucks, loaders and skid steers with some experience on dozer as well.
Well versed handling trench boxes of all sizes and shapes
Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
Ability to work independently and self motivated
Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Driver's License/Identification
Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
Must provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a DISA Drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

Safe operation of excavator
Operate machinery to perform activities such as excavations, backfilling, trenching, ditching, slope work, erosion control, grubbing, stumping, clearing, looming, fine grading and final clean up
Observe hand signals, grade stakes or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications
Handling and/or moving material
Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment
